The Police é uma banda de rock formada pelo baixista e vocalista Sting, o guitarrista Andy Summers e o baterista Stewart Copeland. A banda tinha influências do reggae, punk e do jazz. É considerada uma das melhores bandas da década de 80 e tem grandes sucessos como Roxanne e Every Breath you Take. Em 2007, a banda retornou em fevereiro com uma turnê comemorativa dos 30 anos. Foi marcada com a passagem da banda no Brasil no dia 8 de Dezembro com mais de 70 mil pessoas.

Before The Flood, de 1974, é um álbum gravado ao vivo por Bob Dylan e The Band, durante o "Bob Dylan and The Band 1974 Tour".

Antes do "tour" começar, o lançamento de um álbum ao vivo foi planejado. Um substancial número de performances foi gravada no "tour". Quando foram compilar o álbum, muitos destas gravações eram dos três últimos shows do Los Angeles Forum, em Inglewood, California. A estas gravações foram acrescetadas outras, durante a mixagem, de shows em New York City, Seattle e Oakland.
